Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 – Photowalk, Shelburne, NS.
Historic Shelburne – you’ve seen it on TV (The Book of Negroes) and at the movie theatre (The Scarlet Letter). Now, get it into your own collection of images.
Join several other photographers on Saturday, Oct. 5, for a photowalk through Shelburne, between 4 and 6 p.m., plus sunset. It’s easy – and free – to join us; just click on the image of the poster. (Please note: right-click has been disabled throughout my website.)
We’ll gather outside the Dory Shop Museum at 3:45 p.m. for a round of introductions and a short event briefing before we set off to explore Dock Street, going towards the Osprey Arts Centre. From there, we’ll make our way up to Ann St., to Hammond Street, to John Street, to King Street, and follow that back to Dock Street, working our way back to the starting point to conclude our walk.
Optional, for $10, one can buy a full-day pass to Ross-Thomson House, J. C. Williams Dory Shop, and the Shelburne County Museum; the three museums are open from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (Shelburne County Museum Complex)
Oct. 5 is also Town-wide Yard Sale Day (8 a.m. – 2 p.m.) so there may be a lot of photo ops in the side streets, too. Although this is technically outside the walk hours, these images will be allowed.
The walk is on Saturday, why not stay over and visit the Black Loyalist Historical Site?
As part of the annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk, participants will have a lot of fun while being eligible for some prizes from the Kelby crew, too.
